Our Mission
Univrse’s focus lies on leveling the playing field for college-bound high school students from all backgrounds. Our goal is to counteract inequalities and promote equity, accessibility, and inclusivity. To do this, we have developed an app that serves as a valuable tool for navigating the college search process by making real connections with college students.
Using our mobile app, we enable 1:1 assistance that supports high school students throughout all phases of the college search process.
Our Founders
Alex wanted to make the college decision easier for other students after witnessing first-hand the frustrations of the college selection process among friends and classmates due to the lack of insightful information. Promoting equity, accessibility and inclusivity is his driving force. Alex studied at Tufts University and has worked as a teacher in New York City.
Milestones
2016
Universe was founded in the Fall of 2016. The development of a minimum viable product was completed in the Winter.
Initial funding: seed round of $200k based on initial valuation of $1 Million.
2017
Soft launch and initial product testing with a few hundred customers and several campuses, including Columbia University, Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvania, and on Tufts’ campus
